Dad n Mum Visits...

It's Day 10 of Dad n Mum's visit. 10 days have just passed by like that. I wouldn't say that I was entirely thrilled with the thought of them coming. There were just so many issues on my mind like where should they sleep, where to go, would the weather be too cold, what should I cook etc etc... The list is just endless. Thankfully, everything turned out fine cause the folks were just so accomadating to all my travel arrangements. I must say they have adapted well to my cooking, usually just simple stir fry dishes with pre-mixed sauce that anyone can do. But I also showed them some 'power' with my tacos, cabonara and Gimson fish of course...who wouldn't be impress right! Anyway, I m really proud of them, they have managed to adapt to life here in Stockholm, they have learnt how to take the public transport and move around in Stockholm, followed me around to buy groceries and walked for hours from point to point because transport is not cheap here... heh... Sounds like I m trying to torture them here instead of giving them a real holiday, but they managed everything despite the cold winds and occasional showers...Except for the occasional moans and groans, it was the best family bonding time.

A Long Overdued Post

Time flies and February's here. Actually one third of February is gone. Somehow I feel that I am not making full use of my time here. Only been out of town once and that's really pathetic. I haven't really explored Stockholm. I am ashamed to say this, but I only go to school for lessons, T-centralen for the bank and shopping, and the various supermarkets to buy groceries. There's so much said about the partying here, but I have only been to the school party at Nymble. I really ought to go out more, really walk around Stockholm and do some photography. Heck, I haven't gone to take pictures of Gamla Stan yet. That reminds me of somthing really funny -- JM haven't been to Gamla Stan before the time we went a few weeks back. But he sure has a more interesting life here than me, he learnt to bake a mean carrot cake and has skated on the frozen lake... I better stop procrastinating and start shooting. Want to go n take some sunrise and sunset shots. N also night shots - need to take that dusty tripod out.

Kaunas - It's the 2nd city in Lithuania. Used to be the capital but the capital has shifted to Vilnius. It's a nice quiet city, even in the middle of the day it's rather empty and relaxed. The buildings are old, worn out, with paint peeling. There's quite a bit of construction/restoration going on in the streets. At night the streets are almost deserted. The only night activities are probably the slot machines in the casino, dinner and clubbing. Of course, we spend the 2 nights there clubbing/drinking. The crowd was surprisingly good and the drinks were damn cheap. It really felt like it was almost free sometimes when u compare it with prices in Sweden and Sinagpore. For once, I felt quite rich in Europe.
